College Essay Grader (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides tools and feedback to help students review college application essays. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:

• Essay and application information: essays, prompts, application type, selected colleges, scores, comments, revision plans, and drafts you submit or save.
• Payment information: plan and transaction details from our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.

• Messages to us: information you include when you contact support.

How we use your information

We use information to provide essay feedback, save your work, manage your account and subscription, respond to support requests, protect the service from fraud or misuse, and improve the service.

How we handle essays

We do not publish or sell your essays, or make them available to colleges, other users, or the public.

To generate feedback, your essay may be processed by contracted AI service providers, acting on our behalf and only to provide the service. We do not authorize these providers to use your essay for advertising or to train their models.

We may use limited, aggregated information about service usage to understand how the product is used. We will not include essay text or information that identifies you in public reports.

Service providers and legal disclosures

We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, payment processing, analytics, customer support, and AI feedback. They may process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law or when necessary to protect users, the service, or our legal rights.

Retention and account deletion

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by reaching us through the Contact us form with the subject line “Delete my account.”

When we delete your account, we will delete your saved essays, feedback, scores, and account information, except for records we must keep for legal, security, or accounting reasons. Information held in backups may remain until those backups are routinely replaced.

Payments, cookies, and analytics

Payments are processed by Stripe under its own privacy policy. We use essential cookies to support sign-in and account features.

Your choices and rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.

Children and students

The service is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 18, use the service with permission from a parent or guardian where required. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and delete it as required.

Security and changes

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We may update this policy; when we do, we will change the “Last updated” date and provide any additional notice required by law.
